Hospital Admissions

Due to patient Confidentiality, hospitals no longer automatically notify parishes when a Catholic is admitted. On admission to hospital you can inform the ward that you are a catholic and ask to speak to a member of the hospital chaplaincy team. In cases of emergency admissions, ask the ward staff to contact the on-call Catholic Priest via the hospital switchboard.

In cases of Planned Procedures or Surgery, You can request the Sacrament of the Sick before going into hospital and this can be administered after Mass, at home or in the church
