Bulletin No.604 March 13th 2016

As the preparation of the young people who are to be confirmed this year, draws to a close and the Sacrament draws near, they will  officially join ‘The Elected’ in a short ceremony at the 11a.m. Mass next Sunday.  Please keep them in your prayers both now and as they become full members of the church fulfilling all that this membership entails.

Easter Service Cards are at the back of the Church.  Please take one for yourself and another to pass on to anyone who might like to join us for any of our services during Holy Week.

Week of Prayer for dementia sufferers and their carers will take place between 12th and 19th Marcy.  The Annual Mass for Dementia Suffers will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Bridgend on Wednesday 16th March at 12 noon.   The Sacrament of the Sick will be celebrated during the Mass.

Liturgical Assistants for Easter Period:  I would be grateful if Liturgical Assistants could indicate on the list at the back of the Church which services they will be attending over the Easter Period so that a Rota can be available for next weekend.

DEPAUL’S ’40 NIGHTS OF NIGHTSTOP is an emergency safety net for young people who are rough sleeping or staying  in an unsafe environment.   It also acts as a stepping stone to accessing other services for help.  For each of the 40 nights of Lent there will be people who, through the De Paul NightStop scheme will welcome people into their homes, give them a meal and a warm safe bed for the night.   This excellent charity invites individuals and parishes to consider raising enough money to give 40 nights shelter to a young person.  For a congregation, this would mean £699 at £15 per night.  If you would like to support this charity please either send it to S.V.P. or put it in a clearly marked envelope with your church collection during Lent.

First Communion Preparation;   It was good to see nearly all the children at the presentation during last Sunday’s Mass.  It was therefore disappointing that only 6 parents turned up for the parents’ meeting on Monday.   We look forward to seeing you all there tomorrow (Monday)!

Easter Offering Envelopesare at the back of the Church.  The Easter Collection is your offering to the Parish Priest and forms an essential part of his income.

APF:  It is time for your red box to be emptied!  Please bring to the Sacristy as soon as possible – thank you for your support!
