11th Anniversary of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in our Parish will be celebrated with a Holy Hour including Vespers and Solemn Benediction on next Sunday at 4 p.m. in St Alban’s. Why not come along and join with our regular Adorers and pray for the needs of our Archdiocese, for Archbishop George, our priests and seminarians, for the sanctity of marriage, for family life, and for our own community. There will be light refreshments in the Presbytery afterwards.
We would welcome offers of help to set up the church for this occasion.
The Parish Council are looking for people willing to be on a list of volunteers prepared to help in and around the parish as and when needed. We will be at the back of the Church before and after Masses this weekend (23/24th) to take names, telephone numbers and skills.
Communion Ministers: A diocesan day of Recollection for Ministers of Communion, Communion Catechists and all involved in celebrating, sharing, receiving and building up the Body of Christ led by Tom O’Loughlin with workshops on Home and, Hospital Ministry, Catechesis, Prayer will be at St. Illtyd’s School, Rumney on Sat. 27th Feb 10.30a.m. – 3.30p.m. Please take a form from the back of the church or e.mail : firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com Booking is essential.
Collection of food for the Eastern Valley Foodbank will take place next weekend in both St Alban’s and St Felix communities. Your contributions go a long way in helping our local Foodbank to feed our neighbours in crisis. Please remember to make sure all food is non-perishable, in date and undamaged.
Would you like to take part in the 100 Club in 2016? The cost is £1 per month and the prize is £40 each month. Better odds that you will get with the lottery or a raffle. Interested? Please put your name and address together with either £12 for the year in an envelope (you can also pay £1 monthly) and give it to Treena Hitchings or leave in the Sacristy.
St Felix Heating: You will be aware that we have had to have new radiators and pipework in St Felix Church at a cost £1,500. To date Fr. David has received donations totalling £500. Many thanks to those concerned. Any further contribution toward this expenditure will be gratefully received.
CTS Book Stand has been put at the back of the Church to give more opportunity to parishioners to view the many informative and interesting books available at very reasonable prices. These books can be bought at any time just put the money in the ‘Church Donations’ box in the porch..
